Admission Rates

Please note that these rates do not apply to after-hours special events or pre-registered events and programs.

General admission tickets are as follows:

Adults  $14.95
Children (ages 3 through 12):  $9.95
Seniors (ages 62+):  $12.95
Children 2 and under and Zoo members are admitted free.

Visitors ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard are accepted at the ticket windows. Parking is free.

First Saturday of the Month is Free for Residents of the City of Providence
As a “thank you” to Providence residents whose tax money helps to support the Zoo, the first Saturday of every month is free to residents of the City of Providence (not East or North Providence).  Proof of residency (such as a driver’s license or a utility bill with your name and address printed on it) must be shown at the ticket window.


Hours

From October - March: 10 am - 4 pm (last admission at 3:30 pm)

From April - September: 10 am- 5 pm (last admission at 4:30 pm)

Exceptions: 

- The Zoo closes at 2 pm on the last Saturday of June every year (last admission at noon) to prepare for Zoobilee! Feast with the Beasts, our major fundraiser.

- The Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The Nature Swap in Hasbro's Our Big Backyard Winter Hours: September 21st - March 21st, 10 am - 2pm Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Nature Swap will be closed Tuesdays through Thursdays.

By car –

Parking is free. 
GPS users,
enter "1000 Elmwood Avenue, Providence, RI"

From I-95 South:
Take exit 17, Elmwood Avenue
Left at light
Park entrance is 1/2 block on left
Follow the signs to the Zoo entrance

From I-95 North:
Take exit 16, Elmwood Avenue, and bear right on the off-ramp
Left at light
Park entrance is 1/2 block on right
Follow the signs to the Zoo entrance

From I-195 West:
Merge onto I-95 South
Take exit 17, Elmwood Avenue
Left at light
Park entrance is 1/2 block on left
Follow the signs to the Zoo entrance


By bus -

Now there's a new, environmentally sensitive and hassle-free way to get to the Zoo! Take RIPTA's Route 6 Prairie Ave / Roger Williams Park Zoo trolley. This is part of the Providence LINK route which is serviced by trolleys that run on a new state-of-the-art hybrid parallel drive diesel / electric system.
