Did You Know?

They stand on one leg for two possible reasons.  It may help the birds to conserve heat, since exposed legs do not have any insulation from the cold.  The other reason might be that standing on one leg aids in the reduction of their blood pressure.  The tucked leg does not require blood to be pumped back up into the torso.
