Every day, animals struggle to get by, but some have found a creative tool to help them survive: each other! Some animals form close relationships with other species, some live in big family groups and some rely on specific species for food. However they do it, they don’t do it alone, it’s all connected.

Themes:

  • Odd Weeks: If I Worked in a ZooA lifetime of doing what you love and loving what you do can begin with a small step. This session is aimed at any young person who dreams of working with animals or in a zoo. It takes a dedicated community to run a zoo, and during this week we will take a sneak peek into the secret life of zookeepers, zoo veterinary care, exhibit building, enrichment, and research. Please note: Due to USDA and AZA regulations, this program will not include behind-the-scenes components.
  • Even Weeks: Magizoology - Humans have always been fascinated with the fantastical. From ancient stories of sea monsters and Minotaurs to the Hippogriffs and Acromantulas of the Wizarding World, we just cannot get enough of these magical beasts. So, where did the inspiration for these animals come from? Did any of them ever exist in real life? We will answer these questions and more as we examine the mythical creatures that live where magic and science meet.
