The Zoo's Textron Elephant Barn tours in celebration of World Elephant Day have been cancelled due to bad weather.
Twenty-minute tours of the barn are on a first-come first-served basis. Get an up-close view of the workings of the elephant barn, and insight on the care elephants receive. There are no animal interactions on the tour, and the elephants will not be in the barn during the tours, but you may visit with the elephants after the tour in the Ivory Ella Yard.
Talk with the animal keepers who work with the Zoo’s African elephants Alice, Ginny, and Kate at four different locations throughout the barn. At each area, keepers will discuss various aspects of their interactions with elephants, answer visitor questions, and allow time for guests to take photos of the inside of the barn
And don't miss out on special elephant keeper talks and animal enrichment throughout the day. Please note: All outdoor activites are weather permitting and included with the price of regular Zoo admission.
