Starting October 1st through March 31st, Roger Williams Park Zoo will be open from 10am - 4pm, with the last admission at 3:30pm. Please plan your Zoo trips accordingly.

The acclaimed Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, presented by Citizens Bank, returns to Roger Williams Park Zoo! You will be amazed by this breathtaking display of thousands of illuminated jack-o-lanterns, with over 125 of them carved into veritable works of art. The 2014 Jack-O-Lantern Sepctacular, titled "Jack-O-Lanterns A to Z," will run October 2 - November 2, rain or shine, with admission from 6pm - 10pm; the trail closes at 11pm. Admission is extended to 11pm on Saturdays, with the trail closing at midnight. On weekends, visitors who purchase the dinner offering enjoy express entry to the pumpkin trail.
Looking for a family Halloween experience complete with jack-o-lanterns, flashlights, and goose bumps? Creepy crawly creatures like bats, spiders, snakes, and wolves have been the stuff of nightmares for as long as we can remember. Get the skinny from Zoo staff as they bust the myths about misunderstood animals and the very important role they play in the world. PLUS cap off the experience with express admission to the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular! Boo at the Zoo Family Overnights are on October 18th and 25th. Pre-registration is required.
Join us for a wildly fun time this Halloween and enjoy frightfully fun activities, including trick-or-treat stations, pumpkin treats for the animals, creepy-crawly animal encounters, pumpkin carving demonstrations, a games area, roaming costumed characters, music, and more! The activities run from 10am - 3pm. Spooky Zoo is free with Zoo admission, and kids age 12 and under who come in costume get in for half-price.
On Thursday, November 6 at 7pm, get an inside look at one of the most feared and misunderstood species on the planet during an evening of red wine and great white sharks with Dr. Greg Skomal. The price for this age 16 and over event is $25 per person, which includes the lecture and a glass of wine for participants age 21+. Copies of Dr. Skomal's book, "The Shark Handbook: The Essential Guide to Understanding the Sharks of the World" will be available for purchase and signing. Pre-registration is required before October 29.
Roger Williams Park Zoo salutes the men and women who serve our nation this Veterans Day with free admission for veterans and members of our armed forces, as well as half price admission for up to three immediate family members (spouce and children).
Identification of active or retired status must be shown to receive free admission.
Paint Night at the Zoo

You’ve heard the hype, now be a part of it at Paint Night at the Zoo! This instructor led workshop is designed to guide artists of all skill levels step by step through creating artwork to be proudly displayed at home. For $35, we’ll provide everything you need: canvas, paints, brushes, a smock and even a glass of wine for participants 21 and older. This is a 16+ event. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required (there is a waiting list for events that are full).
If you have an old coat, and aren't sure what to do with it, don't throw it away! Every year the Zoo partners with the Children’s Workshop for their annual coat drive, so bring your old coats to the Zoo from November 15th - 19th to help a family in need.

Usher in the holiday season with the Jolly Old Elf himself at Roger Williams Park Zoo! See Santa arrive in grand style in our parking lot. Then stick around for a festive holiday parade through the Zoo. Visitors who would like to share their holiday cheer with children in need can bring new, unwrapped toys to place in the Cardi's Furniture Toys for Tots collection box.

Celebrate the holiday season in wild style at the Zoo! Meet the Jolly Old Elf himself while enjoying a tasty treat and fun, holiday-themed activities for the whole family. Visits will take place on November 29th and 30th, and December 6th and 7th from 10am - 12pm and 1pm - 3pm each day. The price, in addition to Zoo admission, is $10 for children ages 3-12, and $5 for toddlers ages 2 and under; parents attend the visit for free! Zoo visitors who would like to share their holiday cheer with children in need can bring new, unwrapped toys to place in the Cardi's Furniture Toys for Tots collection box.
