Discounts & Special Offers
As a non-profit, we are grateful for your admission because it funds our animal care and conservation efforts. Even so, we do have a few limited ways to save. (Excludes special events/programs and may not be combined with other offers/applied to previous purchases)
Current Promotions:
As a “thank you” to Providence residents whose tax money helps to support the Zoo, the first Saturday of every month is free to residents of the City of Providence (not East or North Providence). A valid ID and proof of residency* must be shown at the ticket window, no need to reserve your tickets in advance.
*Acceptable forms of identification or residency include a driver’s license, State issued ID, Providence Municipal IDs, lease agreement, utility bill, etc.
Save on Daytime Zoo Admission:
- All active and retired United States military veterans who show a valid military ID plus another form of identification (e.g., driver’s license) receive a 50% discount on regular daytime Zoo admission. The half-price admission discount can be applied for up to four people in a party of immediate family members (including spouse and children). The spouse of a deployed military person will also receive the discount by showing appropriate identification. Note: Discounted tickets are based on availability and must be purchased in-person.
Save on Family Memberships:
- All active and retired United States military veterans are eligible to receive $20 off a Family level membership or higher. Discount is available in-person, via email at membership@rwpzoo.org or by calling 401-785-3510 ext. 375. Note: Discount cannot be applied to any previous membership purchases, used to extend an active membership or combined with other offers.
Groups who purchase 10-99 tickets in a single order SAVE $2 per ticket. To order, click here and select tickets for a specific date and time. You must add at least 10 paid tickets to your cart. Once you advance to the next screen, the discount will apply.
Discounted tickets are based on availability and must be purchased in-person. Members of many AZA accredited institutions receive a discount on general, daytime admission. An active zoo membership card from the institution at which you are a member AND an additional ID are required for reciprocal entry to Roger Williams Park Zoo. If you do not have these to show at the ticket window, regular admissions fees will apply. Definition of “family” for reciprocal purpose: 2 adults and 2 children (meaning only 2 adults and 2 children will be admitted at a reduced rate.)

The reciprocal program is a voluntary agreement among zoos and aquariums: as such, terms may change throughout the year. It is best to call ahead to confirm applicable discounts and admission rates.
