Your donation helps Romo and Fernando, our endangered giant otters, SOUND THE ALARM for the Rainforest.
They need YOU to be their voice as they inspire visitors to make positive choices for our world. Did you know the giant otter is extinct in Uruguay and Argentina, and critically endangered in four other South American countries? Your gift helps Romo and Fernando tell their story by bringing in school groups from around New England, allowing the Zoo the opportunity to give daily Zookeeper talks, and keeping the Zoo open year-round for all to enjoy.
Be a part of their story and make a difference. Help sound the alarm for endangered Rainforest species and donate today!
As a Rainforest supporter and donor, you will be one of the first invited to experience the exhibit when it opens and your name will be included on our donor wall.
(Please note, gifts of $250 or more will be recognized on the Rainforest donor wall)
The new Rainforest exhibit will take you on a journey to the depths of the Amazon Rainforest. Experience rare and exciting creatures from birds and primates to tropical fish and reptiles. Adults and children will discover how these diverse species, big and small, create the complex ecosystem rainforests thrive on, and learn what we can all do to ensure they survive.
There are many human activities that threaten the rainforest, causing the destruction of habitat for thousands of species and resulting in biodiversity loss. This expansive rainforest exhibit will educate visitors about how the many faces of the rainforest all play a role in sustainability - from a vast array of animals, to native peoples. modern industry, AND YOU!
Your actions locally affect our environment globally. Our goal is to teach each generation of visitors that their everyday behaviors and decisions are important, and make a difference. We hope you will consider becoming a face of the Rainforest and support our endeavor.

Why a Bench?
A commemorative bench at Roger Williams Park Zoo is a thoughtful and distinctive way to recognize a special person or occasion. In addition to being a meaningful honor, commemorative benches help beautify the Zoo and enhance the visitor experience.
Funds raised help RWPZ support the Zoo’s Mission to create a unique educational experience and contribute to the conservation of the earth’s natural resources and animals.
For a tax-deductible donation of $2,000, you can provide a lasting memorial or commemorate a special event. Your message will be cast onto a 8.5” x 2” plaque and placed on the bench.
For more information on the Commemorative Bench Program, or to purchase a plaque, please contact Brooke Fairman at Bfairman@rwpzoo.org or call 401-785-3510 ext. 337.
Roger Williams Park Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in the country, has entertained and delighted Rhode Islanders since its opening in 1872.
